A giclee print series

I composed these portraits from graphite drawings and scanned ink brush textures.

I referenced photographs of the siblings playing in autumn leaves.

I wanted to translate the experience of the photos without getting caught up in photographic replication. I improvised using the energetics of brush painting as an elemental language.
